We design and build transportable spaces that sit lightly on the land and inspire a closeness to nature.
Grounded in an ethos of building fewer, better things - our bespoke cabins reflect understated luxury mindfully tailored to their purpose and place.
From studios, tiny houses and saunas, each project is custom built, shaped through close collaboration with our clients.
Mindful material selection and creativity in craftsmanship is fundamental to the way we work. We take pride in fine detailing, quality materials and high end finishes.

Who we are
Cabin Collective was formed by a group of friends who shared a passion for creating funky, out of the ordinary transportable buildings.
As carpenters, we wanted to try something different, and in 2019 we built our first round and asymmetrical sleeping pods. Since then, we’ve expanded into larger self-contained studios and saunas – each design still carrying the funky and out of the ordinary Cabin collective trademark.
We all value a slower lifestyle; living on the land, close to nature and our local community. When we’re not working or setting up our own properties in our spare time, you’ll find us in the ocean - chasing waves or harvesting seafood. We hope that our buildings will help others live a little closer to nature too.
"I was lucky enough to secure a hand crafted sauna from Markus. A super stylish art piece really with charred black exterior that has slipped silently into its surrounds. The internal has a beautiful contrast of soft colours made from celery top pine with Huon pine detail for the door handle and light reveal. I’m super happy with it as are the guests at our sanctuary."
Mathew Routley, Owner - Swan River Sanctuary [Sauna]
"We are constantly asked ‘where did you get your offices from?’ or ‘WOW I love your offices, they look like they belong at a vineyard or a resort, not at a quarry!’
We have two offices, one bathroom and a kitchen plus decking connecting all four buildings. The unique shape of them prompts the question ‘are they made from water tanks?’ No they are not, they’re made by Marcus from Cabin Collective and I cannot speak more highly of Marcus and his workmanship.
The design of the buildings makes it a pleasure to come to work as they are warm and homely, in fact I’d be more than happy to live in them if they were on my block."

"After searching for a structure that would sit comfortably within our forested site, choosing Cabin Collective was an easy decision - a local and affordable Tassie team, their values aligned closely with ours.
The process was smooth and collaborative throughout. Markus provided thoughtful design guidance and helped us stay within budget. Despite the logistical challenges of our remote highland location, the team handled everything seamlessly - from site selection to transport and installation. Their attention to detail and pride in their work truly stood out.
We particularly appreciated their sensitive approach to the surrounding environment. The pods were installed mindfully and with minimal impact. Most importantly, the finished spaces are somewhere we genuinely want to spend time - a peaceful refuge to return to after a day exploring the Tasmanian wilderness."
